A man and woman who killed two Las Vegas police officers and a Wal-Mart shopper before they died in a store shootout earlier this month were wearing adult diapers.
Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie also said Monday that Jerad and Amanda Miller, who were killed June 8 after a 15-minute exchange of gunfire with SWAT officers, were heavily armed and carried ammunition including armor-piercing bullets.
They also smashed a Wal-Mart sporting-goods display case to get more ammunition before being cornered in the back of the store, he said at a press conference.Gillespie said the Millers had four handguns, a shotgun, water and food.
The sheriff says 52 shots were fired by the Millers and officers before the couple died.
Jerad Miller was fatally wounded in the chest, and his wife was wounded and then killed herself.
The new information comes after the civilian victim who was killed when he attempted to stop the shooting rampage was hailed a hero at his Sunday funeral.
A service to remember Joseph Wilcox, 31, was held at 2pm at the Palm Downtown Mortuary and Cemetery, in Las Vegas.
