My name is Max Azzarello, and I am an investigative researcher who has set himself on fire outside of the Trump trial in Manhattan.
This extreme act of protest is to draw attention to an urgent and important discovery:
We are victims of a totalitarian con, and our own government (along with many of their allies) is about to hit us with an apocalyptic fascist world coup.
These claims sound like fantastical conspiracy theory, but they are not. They are proof of conspiracy. If you investigate this mountain of research, you will prove them too. If you learn a great deal about Ponzi schemes, you will discover that our life is a lie. If you follow this story and the links below, you will discover the rotten truth of ‘post-truth America’. You will learn the scariest and stupidest story in world history. And you will realize that we are all in a desperate state of emergency that requires your action.
To my friends and family, witnesses and first responders, I deeply apologize for inflicting this pain upon you. But I assure you it is a drop in the bucket compared to what our government intends to inflict.
Because these words are true, this is an act of revolution.

Last March, a billionaire named Peter Thiel started a bank run on Silicon Valley Bank. I knew enough about Thiel that I found this incredibly suspicious: My hunch was that this was intentional, though I couldn’t fathom why.
I began investigating online, and quickly found cryptocurrency’s fingerprints all over it. The bank run occurred just days after Silvergate Bank – which catered almost exclusively to crypto companies – collapsed. Meanwhile, several crypto cheerleaders were all over financial media warning of a regional banking crisis, and nobody in media was addressing the clear crypto connections.
I dug deep into the financials of Thiel’s venture capital firm Founders Fund and eventually uncovered the following, all proven many times over.
Cryptocurrency is our first planetary multi-trillion-dollar Ponzi scheme. It was expressly created for this purpose by a laundry list of rich and powerful people out of Stanford/Silicon Valley and Harvard/Facebook.
The March 2023 bank failures were all intentional: the banks were used to move out stolen Ponzi money. This signals that they’re no longer dumping cash in to keep the cryptocurrency Ponzi afloat, and that it will soon go insolvent, as all Ponzis must.
When the Ponzi scheme goes insolvent, it will take down half the stock market with it: The perpetrators used their major companies to pipe into the blockchain so they could funnel money out from the crypto exchanges. This includes Google, Tesla, Apple, PayPal, Facebook, Disney, Walmart, Target, InBev, Zoom, and countless others.
It is a Ponzi scheme so large that it created global inflation, which is why the price of Bitcoin has been a remarkable leading indicator for inflation rates. Victims who bought crypto don’t realize their money has already been stolen, so the money gets double-counted by the victims and the criminals who stole it.
As it turns out, our elites are awash in Ponzi schemes. Stanford’s StartX.com investment fund and Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘Program for Evolutionary Dynamics’ he ran at Harvard are both fake-science Ponzi factories that these schools have invested billions in: They are filled with fraudulent companies that use smoke and mirrors to promise miraculous new technology, but always collapse while the perpetrators only get richer.
Funneling trillions of dollars in stolen cash through the stock market created the largest stock-market anomaly in history. The stock chart signature of a Ponzi scheme is a massive increase (while they stack up cash) and then a massive fall (as they funnel out the stolen cash). This chart shape appeared in all the companies listed above. In order to explain the massive anomaly, our criminal government unleashed COVID on the world and told us these were the “stay at home stocks.”

Ponzi schemes are vicious beasts, and cryptocurrency is history’s largest Ponzi by orders of magnitude. It could best be described as an economic doomsday device, intentionally made to shatter the world economy.
The U.S. government is fully involved in this totalitarian con: To illustrate its bipartisan support, I’ll note that nearly every participant of the Clinton Global Initiative has ties to cryptocurrency, while two of the biggest tech VCs who participated are Trump associates Josh Kushner and Anthony Scaramucci.
To better understand our form of government, I will point you to one of the most astonishing pieces of stand-alone evidence I’ve found: Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton’s 1988 DNC speech where he nominated Mike Dukakis for president against George H.W. Bush. The speech is a vile, mean-spirited roast of Dukakis that makes no sense whatsoever: For Clinton to ruthlessly attack a member of his own party should have been political suicide, and he repeatedly mocks Dukakis’ noble and earnest qualities.
Notably, actor Rob Lowe, who was supporting Dukakis, was victim of a teen sex blackmail operation at the DNC that year. Since we know Clinton is a close associate with teen sex blackmail artist Jeffrey Epstein, we can suddenly make perfect sense of the nonsensical speech by applying this lens: Bill Clinton is a cocky mob boss who blackmailed Mike Dukakis because Dukakis thought his job was to help the public. He teases out the future public revelation that Kitty Dukakis drank rubbing alcohol, and offers a strange anecdote about the crack epidemic that reveals he is an exceedingly proud drug runner.
What does this revelation tell us? That our government is conning us completely. That Bill Clinton was secretly on (former CIA Director) George H.W. Bush’s side, and that the Democrat vs. Republican division has been entirely manufactured ever since: Clinton is with Bush; Gore is with Bush; Trump is with Hillary, and so on. When they present themselves in public, they are acting as characters that are against one another, practicing kayfabe as wrestlers do.
As it turns out, we have a secret kleptocracy: Both parties are run by financial criminals whose only goals are to divide, deceive, and bleed us dry. They divide the public against itself and blame the other party while everything gets worse and more expensive and handful of people take all the money.
Since it is fully parasitic, a secret kleptocracy is an incredibly unstable form of government – left to its own devices, it can only lead to fascism or failed state.

One of the key findings of this research is that Harvard University is one of the largest organized crime fronts in history, which is how they churn out billionaires – it’s a major hub of this sprawling criminal network.
As it turns out, dozens of the writers of The Simpsons went to Harvard. So I asked myself the question: If The Simpsons served the interests of organized crime, how would it do so?
Well, it offers a dysfunctional family suffering from moral decay, a community incapable of solving its problems, a worker drone who slaves away for an evil billionaire, and cathartic laughs for our poor collective circumstances.
There are some notable specifics as it relates to this research, too: In Marge vs. The Monorail, the townsfolk are too oafish and divided to invest in the town’s needs (fix Main Street) and fall for the charms of a dazzling showman with a bogus monorail Ponzi scheme. When we know that the show is closely linked to an organization that invests billions of dollars in Ponzi factories, this becomes quite damning.
In Lisa the Iconoclast, Lisa discovers that town founder Jebediah Springfield was a secret criminal con artist, and that the townsfolk’s lives are a lie. Realizing this is an important discovery, she desperately tries to get the townsfolk to listen to her. But they meet her with hostility, apathy, disbelief, and partisanship and she fails to get through to them. Ultimately, she realizes the town is so far gone that perhaps it’s better for them to be lied to by con artists, and she keeps the secret to herself.
And here I’ve been, like Lisa Simpson, desperately trying to get friends, family, and the public to believe the proof of a totalitarian con I’m trying to show them, and they’ve turned away with hostility, apathy, disbelief, and partisanship.
And so, we realize the criminal truth of The Simpsons: Our elites are telling us that our eroding collective circumstances are our own fault, and we can’t do anything about it, while they steal the American Dream from us. It is, for lack of a more elegant word, brainwashing.

Lastly, we string these major discoveries together: Cryptocurrency is an economic doomsday device; our government is a secret kleptocracy; The Simpsons exists to brainwash us. From there, the only research we need is critical thinking and we’re able to piece together the true story of our circumstances.
Consider America since 1988: Institutions like healthcare and universities have become parasitic in their skyrocketing prices. News media tells us to be angry and tribalized. Daytime television warns us of moral decay. Local news tell us to fear our neighbors. The Simpsons tells us we’re too oafish and divided to save the American Dream. Seinfeld tells us to celebrate the assholes and be irritated by all the normal people around us. “Reality” TV tells us that real life is filled with hedonism and strife.
Social media, owned by crypto criminals like Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, is flooded with nonsense conspiracy theories and memes reminding us that we are hopeless, helpless, anxious, depressed, ironic, scared, apathetic, escapist, lonely, misguided, and jaded, telling us we can’t do anything but have a laugh at our circumstances.
Liberals mock the hypocrisy of conservatives; conservatives mock the hypocrisy of liberals, and our collective circumstances erode. The left shouts “All Cops Are Bastards,” which ensures they’ll be hated by the police and the public (and flies in the face of leftist theory). The public’s distrust of the government is at an all-time high, but so is the belief that we are helpless to do anything about it.
And with all this, a sharp rise in apocalyptic messaging: Climate change will kill us all; COVID will kill us all; vaccines will kill us all; AI will kill us all – no matter the bubbles we ascribe to, we’re bombarded with existential crises with no solutions. We’ve seen a surge in apocalyptic film, literature, and video games that tell us there is no way out of our poor circumstances but total societal breakdown. Zombies tell us that the public is our enemy. If you go to your nearest convenience store, you can buy a can of water called “Liquid Death.”
This is our rotten farce: For our entire lives, we have been flooded with media designed to slowly steer us into a world where the American Dream was dead, where the public was fully divided against itself, where everybody believed we were powerless to do anything about our worsening circumstances. It is all so they can organize an unprecedented, apocalyptic rug pull on the entire populace as they pivot to fascism, which is perhaps best understood as kleptocracy at the barrel of a gun.
When we piece it all together, we understand the truth: We are in a totalitarian doomsday cult.
Why on earth would our elites do this? There are many reasons, but the simplest is because capitalism is unsustainable, and they knew it: Climate change and resource extraction would catch up eventually. So, they never intended to sustain it. They knew all along that they would gobble up all the wealth they could, and then yank the rug out from under us so they could pivot to a hellish fascist dystopia.

Because he was a cocky secret fascist who was getting us to stop worrying and love the bomb. Why did he make A Clockwork Orange? So we’d rejoice at ultra-violence designed to desensitize us to the horrors of the world.
Why were the Manson Family murders crawling with cover-ups and intelligence agents? Because our government wanted to make us fear for our lives and believe that hippies are deranged psychopaths.
Why did Walt Disney produce a fraudulent documentary that told us Lemmings follow each other off cliffs? So we would believe it.
Why did The Beatles tell us to fear the taxman, to scoff at revolution, chase nonsense conspiracy theories, and that happiness is a warm gun? So we would believe it.
Why did Easy Rider tell us that the hippie movement was dead? So we would believe it.
Why did Chinatown end with defeatism in the face of massive corruption? So we would believe it.
Why did George Orwell tell us of a hellish future of totalitarian control that we are powerless to stop? So we would believe it.
Why did Wall Street tell us “greed is good”? So we would believe it.
Why did Do The Right Thing tell us we’re all racially tribalized? So we would believe it.
Why did Simpsons creator Matt Groening make a comic strip called Life in Hell? So we would believe it.
And on, and on, and on, and on. When it comes to any popular media, if you ask yourself the question, “Why would secret doomsday cult kleptocrats want the public to consume this?”, you will find your answers.

This is obviously very bad news, but the biggest lie we’ve been told is that we are powerless. We’ve got one way out of hellworld, and that’s for the public to realize that we’ve been conned completely so we can build a united movement that shatters every lie they’ve told us, mocks this rotten farce as loudly as it deserves, and aims at nothing short of abolishing our criminal government so we can build one that serves the public.
To understand this story is to see right through the con, to become immune to the endless sea of criminal propaganda, and to feel the great joy and power that comes with freedom.
If a small number of people quickly put on these truth-colored glasses, we are in for an unimaginably bright future. If not, we get an apocalypse.

Russian state media called out former President Donald Trump on Wednesday, saying that he is looked at as "the destroyer of America" amid discussions of the 2024 presidential election.
While speaking with Russian presenter Vladimir Solovyov about Trump, the pundits played a soundbite of the former president's interview with Fox host Sean Hannity. Trump can be heard saying, "Ukraine is being obliterated." The clip of the broadcast was shared on Twitter by Julia Davis, founder of the Russian Media Monitor watchdog group. Soloyov responds, "And it will be destroyed. Who needs it? Who needs Ukraine where they don't respect Russians?"
Andrey Sidorov, deputy dean of world politics at Moscow State University, then responds, "Trump is coming. Think of him as you will, I always saw him and still see him as a destroyer of America." Soloyov then pivoted to discussing elections in the U.S., saying the 2020 election was stolen from Trump, and if Democrats manage to "pin him down," the 2024 election would end in a victory for President Joe Biden.Meanwhile, Trump is battling multiple legal issues, most notably a possible indictment from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Bragg is investigating Trump for his alleged $130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels during his 2016 presidential campaign.
Trump allegedly arranged for his former attorney, Michael Cohen, to pay Daniels. The former president has denied all allegations, including Daniels' claim that they had an affair. Source

LUMBERTON, N.C. (WBTW) — Authorities have identified a good Samaritan who died Thursday morning while trying to intervene in a carjacking in Lumberton.
Jonathan Adam Lecompte, 38, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, was killed in the incident, according to Lumberton police.Lumberton police said Ricky Alex Driggers, 28, stole a vehicle and then intentionally hit Lecompte who was one of several Good Samaritans who tried to intervene in the incident.
Authorities have charged Driggers with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted common law robbery, larceny of a motor vehicle and felony fleeing to elude. He is being held without bond in the Robeson County Detention Center.
The incident began at about 10:30 a.m. in the 4100 block of W. 5th Street. According to police, officers en route to a carjacking call were told the suspect had been involved in a hit-and-run in the parking lot of Go Gas at 2605 W. 5th Street and was trying to carjack a second vehicle on W. 5th Street in front of a McDonald’s restaurant.
“Good Samaritans got involved to prevent the carjacking but the suspect was then able to steal the vehicle of one of the good Samaritans,” police said in a news release. “In the process of stealing the vehicle the suspect reportedly intentionally struck one of the good Samaritans with the stolen vehicle.” Lecompte was hit and pronounced dead at a local hospital, police said.
Officers arriving at the scene, officers saw Driggers fleeing in the stolen vehicle and pursued him until he crashed on Selma Road near Highway 41.

Bondi Stabbing Attack: Muslim Immigrant Goes On Stabbing Rampage
Seven people are dead and others are in serious or critical condition after a stabbing rampage at a mall in Sydney, Australia, on Saturday, according to police. The attacker, who was shot by a lone officer, was among the dead, and a baby among those stabbed.
New South Wales Police Commissioner Anthony Cooke told a news conference that the attacker walked into the Westfield Bondi Junction mall at about 3:20 p.m. local time (1:20 a.m. ET) where he “caused harm” to about nine people “stabbing them with a weapon he was carrying.” The weapon “was most likely a knife,” he said. A spokesperson for New South Wales Ambulance told NBC News that a 9-month-old baby was “transported to Sydney Children’s Hospital with a pediatric stab wound.” Cooke said that an inspector near the scene was guided to the offender’s location by members of the public. As she pursued him from behind, Cooke said the offender turned and the officer shot him.
“She took the action, saving a range of people’s lives,” he added.
Speaking at the same news conference, NSW Ambulance Assistant Commissioner Brent Armitage said two other people had been transported to hospitals across Sydney. Their condition was not known.
Surveillance video showed a man running through the mall holding a long knife. Reports from local media described chaos, as some shoppers fled and others attempted to stop the man. Some shops reportedly pulled down their shutters, sequestering some people inside in order to keep them safe.
Hundreds of people were evacuated from the mall.
In a live interview with 9News Sydney, the local broadcaster, a man outside the mall said he helped a baby after a woman was stabbed. “The mum came over with the baby and threw it at me, with this hole in the baby, it looked pretty bad,” he said.
Roi Huberman, a sound engineer at ABC TV in Australia, told the network that he sheltered in a store during the incident.
He said the offender’s motives were not clear, but he acted alone and that there was no continuing threat.“Suddenly we heard a shot or maybe two shots and we didn’t know what to do,” he said. “Then the very capable person in the store took us to the back where it can be locked.” She then locked the store and led them out through the back entrance.
Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called the attack “a horrific act of violence that indiscriminately targeted innocent people.”
In a news conference, he said the nation “offers our deepest condolences and sympathies to all those who are grieving for someone they have lost. And we send our strength to those who have been injured.”
King Charles III said he and Queen Camilla “were utterly shocked and horrified to hear of the tragic stabbing incident in Bondi.”
“Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of those who have been so brutally killed during such a senseless attack,” he said in a statement. “While details of these shocking circumstances are still emerging, our thoughts are also with those who were involved in the response, and we give thanks for the bravery of the first responders and emergency services.” Source

US had warned Russia ISIS was determined to attack
The US warned Moscow that ISIS militants were determined to target Russia in the days before assailants stormed the Crocus City Hall in an attack that killed scores of people, but President Vladimir Putin rejected the advice as “provocative.”
Gunmen stormed the concert hall near Moscow on Friday, opening fire and throwing an incendiary device in the worst terrorist attack on the Russian capital in decades.
Isis has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Experts said the scale of the carnage – some of which was captured in video footage obtained by CNN showing crowds of people cowering behind cushioned seats as gunshots echoed in the vast hall – would be deeply embarrassing for the Russian leader, who had championed a message of national security just a week earlier when winning the country’s stage-managed election.
Not only had Russian intelligence services failed to prevent the attack, they said, but Putin had failed to heed warnings from the United States that extremists were plotting to target Moscow.
Earlier this month, the US embassy in Russia had said it was “monitoring reports that extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow,” including concerts, and it warned US citizens to avoid such places.
US National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said the US government had “shared this information with Russian authorities in accordance with its longstanding ‘duty to warn’ policy.”
But in a speech Tuesday, Putin had blasted the American warnings as “provocative,” saying “these actions resemble outright blackmail and the intention to intimidate and destabilize our society.”
That stance came despite Russian authorities having reported several ISIS-related incidents within the past month.
The state-run RIA Novosti reported on March 3 that six ISIS members were killed in a counter-terrorist operation in the Ingush Karabulak; on March 7, it said security services had uncovered and “neutralized” a cell of the banned organization Vilayat Khorasan in the Kaluga region, whose members were planning an attack on a synagogue in Moscow; and on March 20, it said the commander of an ISIS combat group had been detained.
Two sources familiar with the American information said that since November there had been a steady stream of intelligence that ISIS-K – an affiliate of ISIS that is active in Afghanistan and the surrounding region – was determined to attack Russia.
Moscow has intervened tellingly in Syria’s civil war, to the support of President Bashar al-Assad and against ISIS.
ISIS-K “sees Russia as being complicit in activities that regularly oppress Muslims,” Michael Kugelman of the Washington-based Wilson Center said, as quoted by Reuters.
He added that the group also counts as members a number of Central Asian militants, who hold their own grievances against Moscow.
A US official said Friday that Washington had no reason to doubt ISIS’ claim that it was responsible for the latest attack.

First Spring 2024 Explosion: Moscow Terror Attack - Crocus City Hall Explosion/Fire & Mass Shooting
At least 40 people have been killed after gunmen attacked a packed concert venue on the outskirts of Moscow.
Around 100 people were also hurt when gunmen in camouflage clothing opened fire with automatic weapons on people at a concert in the Crocus City Hall on Friday.
In one of the worst such attacks in Russia in years, at least five people were shown in unverified videos firing repeatedly at screaming civilians cowering in the concert hall as Soviet-era rock group 'Picnic' was about to perform at around 8pm local time. Flames leapt into the sky and plumes of black smoke rose above the venue as hundreds of blue lights from emergency vehicles flashed into the night
Helicopters sought to douse the flames and evacuated around 100 people from the basement, Russian media reported.
Police, special forces and 70 ambulances attended the scene, with some video footage showing a number of people lying motionless in pools of blood outside the hall. Other video footage showed the men shooting people below what looked like an entrance sign to 'Crocus City Hall'.
Another horrific clip showed at least four people attacking the crowd with guns, to the sounds of shots ringing around the building and smashed glass.
All the tickets in the 6,200-seat concert hall had been sold out.
State news agency TASS cited Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB), the main successor to the Soviet-era KGB, as saying 40 people had been killed and more than 100 wounded.
Russian media reported a second blast at the venue and there were reports that some of the gunmen had barricaded themselves somewhere in the building.
It was not immediately unclear who the attackers were. No group has yet claimed responsibility.
After the attack, Russia tightened security at airports, transportation stations and across the capital - a vast urban area of over 21 million people.
'A terrible tragedy occurred in the shopping centre Crocus City today,' Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. 'I am sorry for the loved ones of the victims.' Source

Wheel falls off United Airlines Boeing 777 and crushes cars in San Francisco
A United Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing in California after a tyre fell off midflight and damaged several cars in a parking lot in San Francisco.
The incident occurred on Thursday at around 11.24am local time after the Boeing 777 took off from San Francisco International Airport. The passenger plane with 235 passengers and 14 crew members was bound for Japan.
Video of the incident showed one of the plane’s six wheels detaching and dropping off as the plane was taking off.
The plane was redirected to Los Angeles International Airport where fire engines stood on standby. The plane landed safely and stopped approximately two-thirds of the way down the runway, after which it was towed away, LAX airport officials said.
No one was injured, airport spokesman Doug Yakel said in a statement. Source

New York City Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanagh was heckled at the city’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade after her department vowed to go after Trump-supporting FDNY members who booed New York Attorney General Letitia James at a promotion ceremony, video shows.
“You suck,” one protester yelled at Kavanaugh as she marched past Trump Tower on 5th Avenue on Saturday, according to video obtained by Fox News.
“Firefighters are the hunters,” he screamed.
After she passed, city service members were seen waving and giving thumbs up to the loud group as they repeatedly chanted former President Donald Trump’s name. Some even stopped to shake their hands, video shows. The Post has reached out to FDNY for comment on the demonstrators.
The angry outburst from the protesters comes after a chorus of smoke-eaters mercilessly hailed James with boos and cheered for the ex-president when she took the stage at a department promotion ceremony at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn on March 7.
In response, FDNY Chief of Department John Hodgens sent an email to agency heads warning that the department’s Bureau of Investigation and Trials [BITS] planned to “hunt down” those involved.
“BITS is investigating this, so they will figure out who the members are,” Hodgens said in the email, obtained by The Post. “I recommend they come forward. I have been told by the Commissioner it will be better for them if they come forward, and we don’t have to hunt them down.” Source

Noon Day Devil Explosion: 16 Injured In Explosion At FBI Training Facility In Irvine At 12:58 PM

I've posted before on noonday devil explosions - explosions occurring at the noon hour- there have been a lot of them over the last two years. I've also posted about witches and house explosions and fires.
First on the noonday devil:
NOONDAY DEVIL
The term Noonday Demon (also Noonday Devil, Demon of Noontide, Midday Demon or Meridian Demon) is used as a personification and synonym for acedia. It indicates a demonic figure thought to be active at the noon hour which inclines its victims (usually monastics) to restlessness, excitability and inattention to one's duties.
It comes from biblical sources: Psalm 91:6 of the Hebrew Bible reads "mi-ketev yashud tsohorayim": from destruction that despoils at midday. This phrase was translated into Alexandrian Greek in the Septuagint into. "apo pragmatos diaporeuomenou en skotei apo symptwmatos kai daimoniou mesembrinou" ([you need not fear] the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.). In the Vulgate, Jerome's translation of the Septuagint into Latin, we can find a personification in the daemonium meridianum ("Non timebis . . . ab incursu et daemonio meridiano"). This demonic personification is kept in the Catholic Douay-Rheims translation of the Old Testament of 1609 (Psalms 90:6). An exception is King James Version of 1611, where the translation follows the Hebrew: “the destruction that wasteth at noonday”. The Orthodox Study Bible confirms the understanding of Saint Jerome and translates Psalm 91:6 as "Nor by a thing moving in darkness, Nor by mishap and a demon of noonday." Holman reported that an Aramaic paraphrasing text in the Dead Sea Scrolls of this Psalm from the first century speaks of demons and spiritual warfare as the Latin and Greek translations did.
In the writings of Evagrius Ponticus, a Christian monk and ascetic, the Noonday Demon is specifically responsible for acedia, which he describes as "daemon qui etiam meridianus vocatur", attacking the cenobites most frequently between the hours of ten and two. It caused a sentiment characterized by exhaustion, listlessness, sadness, or dejection, restlessness, aversion to the cell and ascetic life, and yearning for family and former life. Source
On the FBI explosion in Irvine California:
16 injured in explosion at FBI training facility in Irvine Sixteen people were injured during an explosion at an FBI training facility in the Southern California city of Irvine Wednesday, officials said. Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies were using the facility on Magazine Road when the incident occurred a little before 1 p.m., a department spokesperson told CBS Los Angeles. Thirteen of the injuries were related to the noise of the blast, resulting in the victims suffering from dizziness and ear pain, the sheriff's department said. Two of the injuries were to victim's legs, one of whom required surgery. Another person suffered a back injury but will not require surgery, the sheriff's spokesperson said. "It's not a good feeling anytime an injury happens to anybody, including members of our own staff," said OCSD Sergeant Frank Gonzalez . "The most severe injury that was sustained was one of our SWAT team members had a leg injury that is gonna require surgery." Fifteen of the victims were taken to nearby hospitals by Orange County Fire Authority paramedics, while one person self-transported, the sheriff's department said. The incident occurred during a joint training exercise between the OCSD's Bomb Squad and SWAT teams, the sheriff's spokesperson said, and the explosion happened inside of a small building on the FBI property. "The device was part of the training. As far as what they were doing when it happened, that I don't know," Gonzalez said. He says that all of the units were wearing tactical gear at the time of the explosion, and that medical crews were already on scene as part of the exercise. "We have medical plans in place and they were activated immediately because the safety of all our members is our utmost anytime we hold a training like this," Gonzalez said. The FBI is now leading the investigation. "A training incident that occurred today at the FBI's training facility in Irvine with law enforcement partners resulted in some injuries and is under investigation," said a statement from the FBI. SkyCal was overhead as investigators scoured the scene, several of which could be seen wearing what looked like protective suits as they examined what looked like a bunker and some sort of robotic equipment. How Demons
and their Attendant Witches set Fire to
Houses and Buildings.
CLAUDE FELLET was always
quarreling with a woman who was her neighbor; for it is often a
fruitful source of friction when those
of equal condition live near to each
other. And she had for a long time pondered in her heart how she could
ring some secret misfortune upon her
neighbor; for it was necessary that
it should be done in secret, since if any
evil befell the woman, all the inhabitants would at once blame Fellet for
it. Accordingly, she formed the following plot with her Demon. She was to
go to her usual work in the fields,
while he would do her business for her
in the town: in this way no suspicion
could attach to her, since she would be
away from home. The neighbor's
house was bolted and barred, and
behold! her infant son whom the
mother had left alone in the house was
heard crying pitiably within. All who
heard it ran up and broke open the
door to see what had happened to
make it cry so; and they found him
smothered and buried all over with
red-hot embers. They shook these off
with all speed, and took him from his
cradle in a desperate effort to save
him; but he was already breathing his
last, and died in their hands. The
rumor then began to spread that this
was certainly Fellet’s doing, for it
was said that she had already taken
the same sort of vengeance on several
others: therefore she was examined in respect of this crime and others of
which she had long been suspected;
and finally she was induced to confess
openly that she was guilty, telling all
as it had been done by the Demon at
her request, and particularly of the
burning embers which he had
shoveled from under the hearth and
thrown upon the unfortunate child’s
cradle.
Since we have touched upon the
subject of the fires and conflagrations
caused by Demons, I have thought
good to subjoin some various examples
of this aspect of their activities, which
may help to elucidate the truth of a
matter which has been the subject of
much doubt and controversy to many.
There is a village named Colmar in
the domains of the Lord Abbot of
Saint-Evre, Jacques de Tavigny, O.S.B., a prelate of most eminent
nobility and riches, never sufficiently
to be praised for his courtesy, beneficence and integrity. Not twenty
yeas ago a certain wanton Demon began to throw stones incessantly by
day and night at the servants of an
inhabitant of this village ; but after he
had done this for a long time without
effect, they began to treat it as a joke
and did not hesitate to hurl back
taunts and insults at him. Therefore
at the dead of night he set fire to the
whole house in a moment, so that no
amount of water was enough to prevent it from being immediately burned
to the ground. This account I eagerly
heard from the servants, being led by
the strangeness of the event to question
them when I chanced to be going that
way not many days later.
The following story is the very
brother to that of Medea, who sent as
a gift to Creusa the daughter of Creon
magic fire enclosed in a box, by which
the palace in which she was then was
burned. Joanna Schwartz at Laach,
March 1588, tried with all her might
to get Francoise Huyna to give her a
piece of dough before she put it in the
oven, so that she might make a cake
with it for her children. But Huyna
refused her, saying that the dough had
been measured out to last the whole
family for a certain number of days,and
she could not give any of it away without causing her own house to go short.
Thereupon Joanna never stopped pondering how she might fittingly pay her back for that refusal. But she did
not have to wait long; for her Demon
gave her a napkin in which were some
tiny morsels like chaff, and told her
to secrete it in Huyna’s house, and to
do so quickly, for it would happen that,
soon after she had done so, the house
would suddenly burst into flames and
be consumed with all its furniture.
Accordingly she rolled the napkin into
a ball, went to Huyna as she was but in her bake house, and offered to sell
it to her for use in her loom, which she
had heard she was getting ready.
And when Huyna said that she did not
need it, since she expected to have
more than enough to do in household duties; nevertheless, the good woman
put it down in a flour tub that stood
near by, saying that if she had no use
for it at that time, she might return it
at her leisure. Hardly had she left the
house when the tub containing the
napkin burst into flames, and the
whole house caught fire so rapidly
that no help could be brought quickly
enough. These two women separately
gave the same account of this event,
and so removed any possible doubt as
to its truth,
One more example, not unlike the
above, I shall take from Erasmus of
Rotterdam (Epist. famil., X XVII, 20).
There is a town in Switzerland called
Schiltach which was entirely burnt
down in a moment on the tenth of
April, 1533. And according to the
statements made by the inhabitants
to the Mayor of Fribourg, which city
is eight German miles from the place,
the cause of that fire was said to be as
follows:—A Demon whistled in a certain part of an inn; and the host,
thinking it was a thief, went up but
found no one, The whistle was
repeated from a higher room, and
again the host went up to look for a
thief, but again found no one. But
when the whistle was again heard,
this time from the top of the chimney,
it came into the host’s mind that it was
the work of some Demon. He bade
his family keep calm; called two
priests; and they performed an exorcism. He answered that he was a
Demon. Asked what he was doing
there, he said that he wished to burn
the town to ashes. When they threatened him with holy things, he said
that he cared nothing for their threats,
since one of them was a whoremonger
and both of them were thieves. A
little later he raised up into the air a young woman with whom he had been
intimate for fourteen years (although
during all this time she had regularly
confessed herself and received the
Eucharist), and set her on the chimney-pot; gave her a jar, and told her
to turn it up. She did this; and within an hour the whole town was burned
out.
We need not be greatly astonished
at this power of the Demons to cause
such rapid and instantaneous fires,
for even to this day we have men who
are most skilled in doing the like. I do
not refer to explosive powders and
such inflammatory substances, by the
use of which we see whole houses quickly set on fire and destroyed ; for
they are matters of common and every-
day use. I refer to some occult
method which is beyond normal
human understanding. Last year there
was in the train of a certain Prince a
simple fellow from Germany (I name
no names, though I could easily do so),
who professed that he had that which,
if he scattered some of it among the
houses, the whole town, many days
after he had left it, would be set on
fire and burned out. And at last,
through an interpreter, he explained
to the Count, the Prince’s son, the
nature of this substance, having first
bound them both by an oath never to
reveal or communicate the secret to
anyone.
know from Pliny (II, 105) that
naphtha has such an affinity for fire
that it very readily conducts flame;
but he is wide of the mark when he
says that it actually causes fire. For,
as I hear, it can be kept with perfect
safety for many days in the same room
with a bright and continual fire burning. But certainly it is an execrable
and detestable invention; for, thanks
to it, no host is safe from his guests;
and the largest and most beautiful
cities, which cost many years’ labor
in the building and perfecting, can in
a moment be destroyed at the pleasure
of one wicked man, with the consequent ruin of all the inhabitants.
