Denver gunman, 47, who killed five wrote novel using pseudonym about tattoo parlor rampage and ranted online about masculine supremacy: Police release footage of him on spree and say he 'targeted' victims 

The Denver gunman who shot and killed five people on Monday night, several of them connected to the tattoo industry, had self-published a novel in which a character with his name murders people at tattoo parlors as an act of revenge against the world. Lyndon McLeod, 47, a known extremist with psychiatric problems and violent material on his social media, was killed by police on Monday at the end of his rampage across Denver. rom 2018 to 2020 he self-published a series of novels online, under the pseudonym Roman McClay. One of the books features a character named Lyndon McLeod who opens fire on a tattoo parlor in downtown Denver. In the story, McLeod the character goes on a six-month killing rampage, killing 46 people who had wronged him throughout his life. One of his stories also featured a character who carried out a murder at an apartment complex - similar to the site of one of the shootings. His Instagram and Twitter accounts show he harbored misogynistic hatred, and reveled in alt-right conspiracy theories. McLeod quoted characters and lines from his books to comment on current events, such as a COVID misinformation meme on Twitter featuring Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg and Microsoft founder Bill Gates discussing 'an injectable nanoworm'.

He first killed two women working in a tattoo parlor, then shot dead a man in a home. He went to the site of his former business in downtown Denver, Flat Black Ink Corp - which is listed as the publisher of his novels - and opened fire, but no one was injured.McLeod crossed town to a second tattoo parlor, in the Lakewood area, and killed his fourth victim - walking calmly in to the store and opening fire, then driving off 10 seconds later. Finally he went to the Hyatt House hotel and killed a clerk, before being shot dead by police. McLeod, who lived in a shipping container up a mountain, glorifying in a life free of women and full of 'books, guns and meat', had Flat Black Ink declared bankrupt in 2017.His books, he said, were his 'art' and a creative outlet. On Amаzon, the first book in the three-part series, Sаnction, hаs dozens of five-stаr reviews, while others wаrn potentiаl reаders аbout the extreme violence in the book. One online review described the trilogy as 'an epic, visceral journey into the dark heart of every man broken by society.' Another reviewer said the characters 'give full vent to their sexism, racism, and every other -ism kept out of mainstream discourse,' according to The Denver Post. McLeod, in a 2020 interview on YouTube - now taken down - said the book was about 'our masculinity and the way we interact,' looking at religion, genetics and culture. He described it on Twitter, in an account dormant since June 2020, as: 'The book that philosophizes with a Jack-Hammer.' 'I tend to look at the world in threes. I'll look at the world currently, then the world below it and the world above it,' he said in the YouTube interview in March 2020. 'You have the terrestrial plane, then the sub level, then the atmosphere.' McLeod added: 'I consider myself an artist first, and then a man interested in ideas and culture second.' McLeod, in 2020, ranted on Twitter about emasculated men, and praised boxer Mike Tyson as a role model. Source

Construction magnate Rocco Tomassetti, 65, and wife Vinceta Marsicano-Tomassetti, were shot inside their 8,751-square foot mansion in tony Hewlett Harbor about 10 am. Their 29-year-old son Dino Tomassetti allegedly fled the scene in a Cadillac Escalade before he was arrested in New Jersey later that night, police said. A Nassau County police spokesman told DailyMail.com that Tomassetti was awaiting extradition to New York on Sunday. The parents survived the shooting but their condition has not been revealed. The Tomasetti family is part of a construction dynasty formed by the late Dino Tomassetti Sr., an Italian immigrant whose chain of Laquila companies helped shape New York City's skyline. Their projects include the Goldman Sachs headquarters near Ground Zero, the Bank of America headquarters, condominiums and more. His son Rocco's Empire Transit Mix company provided the concrete for the Freedom Tower and his daughter's company helped develop the structure. CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Police in Missouri arrested 32-year-old Brittany Wilson on Christmas Eve for the stabbing death of her boyfriend. According to a news release, police found Wilson standing outside her boyfriend’s home Friday night at 11:05, covered in blood. KFVS reported officers spotted a sword on the lawn. While authorities questioned Wilson outside, investigators made their way inside to discover the body of a deceased male in the basement. Police said the body had suffered a fresh stab wound. Authorities have not yet identified the victim, waiting for his family to be notified of his death. Police arrested Wilson and transported her to the Cape Girardeau municipal jail. Prosecutors presented the case to Judge Frank E. Miller who issued a warrant on Wilson for first-degree murder and armed criminal action. She’s being held on a $2 million bond. Source

He says: 'I'm sorry. I'm sorry for what I've done and what I will do. I will attempt to assassinate Elizabeth, Queen of the Royal Family. Huge explosion at Exxon refinery in Texas leaves several injured 

 A large explosion was reported early Thursday at an Exxon/Mobile refinery in Baytown, Texas, after what local sheriff’s deputies called “a major industrial accident.” At least four people were injured, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. One victim was in critical but stable condition and the other three were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Baytown is located just east of Houston in its greater metropolitan area. Exxon’s refinery in the city was built in 1920 and is the company’s largest oil refinery in the United States. It produces 584,000 barrels of crude oil per day, according to the company’s website. You should pray all eight canonical hours of the Little office of the Blessed Virgin Mary and add a complete rosary at each canonical hour.  It may take awhile to get into a good habit of praying at all eight canonical  hours but it can be done.

Loud boom heard across central Illinois 

CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Many people have heard a loud boom but no one has any leads to what it is at the moment… Chatham Police just posted to Facebook to let people know that they are aware of a loud boom that happened at around noon on Tuesday. Many residents in Sangamon County and Macon County reported that they heard the boom. Officers said they have not yet to find out the source of this event. They are advising people not to call the emergency services about this as it can tie up the phone lines for emergency/priority calls. This story will be updated when more information becomes available.

UPDATE (1:25 p.m. on 12/21/21) — Springfield Fire Chief Brandon Blough recently updated WCIA 3 reporter with more information about the loud boom. According to him, Emergency Management Office has confirmed a sonic boom happened around 11:40 a.m. from a Boeing test flight. Many people said they felt it from Springfield and beyond, including the Branson area. Some people reported that the boom rattled pictures and windows.Chief Blough said the military and Boeing have acknowledged the testing of a new jet, the F-15EX Strike Eagle. It was stated that the aircraft can easily break the sound barrier. In addition, at times, a sonic boom can be heard from hundreds of miles away.

UPDATE ( 1p.m. on 12/21/21) — Sangamon County Illinois Office of Emergency Management received confirmation from Kansas City FAA that the boom was caused by F15 EX Strike Eagle fighter jets travelling at super sonic speeds.

Gasoline truck explodes in northern Haiti; dozens killed

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — A truck carrying gasoline overturned and exploded in a fireball in northern Haiti, engulfing cars and homes in flames as it killed more than 50 people and injured dozens of others in the latest disaster to hit a country whose troubles deepened greatly this year. The explosion occurred late Monday in the coastal city of Cap-Haitien as survivors rushed outside and yelled as they observed how the fire consumed part of their neighborhood. Hours later, a local hospital was overwhelmed with injured people as it pleaded for basic supplies and more medical staff. Dozens of bodies lay near the explosion site as some people used buckets to scoop up gasoline from the truck and the street to take back to their homes, Dave Larose, a civil engineer who works in Cap-Haitien, told The Associated Press. The explosion occurred as Haiti struggles with a severe shortage of fuel and spiraling gas prices that recently forced hospitals to turn away patients, temporarily shut down gas stations, schools and businesses and prompted the government of U.S. and Canada to urge its citizens to leave while they still could. “It’s terrible what our country has to go through,” Larose said. Haiti is still trying to recover from the July 7 presidential assassination and a 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck in mid-August, killing more than 2,200 people and destroying tens of thousands of homes. The country of more than 11 million people also has been hit by a spike in gang-related kidnappings, including 17 missionaries with a U.S. religious organization who were abducted in mid-October. Five of them have been released but another 12 are still being held. 

Now, Haitians find themselves mourning the victims of the explosion, which officials believe occurred after the gas truck overturned after apparently trying to avoid hitting a motorcycle, Patrick Almonor, deputy mayor of Cap-Haitien, told The Associated Press. He said at least 53 deaths and more than 100 injured have been reported following the explosion that burned around 20 homes near the site. He said he expects the number of deaths to keep rising because people who died in their homes have not yet been counted. “It’s horrible what happened,” he said. “We lost so many lives.” Almonor said a local hospital is in dire need of more nurses, doctors and basic medical supplies to help those injured. “We are overwhelmed,” a person identified as Dr. Calhil Turenne told Le Nouvelliste newspaper. Prime Minister Ariel Henry said he was devastated and announced that his administration was deploying field hospitals to the area to help those affected. “Three days of national mourning will be decreed throughout the territory, in memory of the victims of this tragedy that the entire Haitian nation is grieving,” he tweeted. Former Prime Minister Claude Joseph also mourned the victims, tweeting, “I share the pain and sorrow of all the people.” Source

JEFF Bezos has been slammed after celebrating his Blue Origin space trip after the collapse of one of his Amazon warehouses, which left six dead. At least 50 are killed by tornadoes in Kentucky's deadliest storm in a century: Twisters rip through Mississippi Valley 'shredding' nursing home and destroying Amazon warehouse   

At least 50 people are thought to have been killed in Kentucky, and there are multiple fatalities at an Amazon distribution center in Illinois, after at least 24 tornadoes ripped across the South and Midwest of the US on Friday.  Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear estimated the toll would 'exceed 50' but could reach 100 after 'some of the worst tornado damage' the state has experienced 'in a long time'. 'This has been one of the toughest nights in Kentucky history and some areas have been hit in ways that is hard to put into words,' Beshear told a news conference early on Saturday. 'I fear that there are more than 50 dead in Kentucky... probably closer to somewhere between 70 and 100, it's devastating.' The governor added the damage was 'some of the worst we've seen in a long time' in the town of Mayfield, a small city of about 10,000 people in the far western part of Kentucky, where the Bluegrass State borders Illinois, Missouri and Arkansas. 

Beshear said 'dozens' were believed killed in a Mayfield candle factory where 110 were working when the storm hit. The early casualty estimates suggest that the tragedy is the deadliest tornado strike in Kentucky in more than a century, on a scale last seen in 1917 when twisters killed 67 in the western tip of the state. One tornado among the dozens that struck is estimated to have a damage path of more than 200 miles, which would approach or exceed the all-time record. Beshear has declared a state of emergency and requested an immediate federal disaster declaration. A spokeswoman for the state's emergency management service said that rescue officials had not confirmed figures for deaths or injuries as of early Saturday. Elsewhere, in southern Illinois, authorities said at least two were dead and up to 50 people were trapped after a roof collapsed at an Amazon warehouse near St. Louis late on Friday, when tornadoes and strong storms blew through the area. At least two were killed and five were injured when a tornado shredded the roof of a nursing home in Monette in northern Arkansas and another person killed in Missouri. A further three people were killed in the severe weather in Tennessee, Dean Flener, spokesman for the state's Emergency Management Agency said. Source

Footage from local TV stations showed dozens of emergency vehicles at the Amazon centre near Edwardsville, about 25 miles west of St Louis. Some 100 employees were believed to have been working the night shift at the time of the collapse, an official told local TV station KTVI-TV. It was not immediately clear if or how many people were hurt, but the Collinsville, Illinois, Emergency Management Agency called it a "mass casualty incident" on Facebook.The centre opened with two warehouses in 2016, with 1.5 million square feet of space, according to the Belleville News-Democrat. NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- A large Christmas tree outside Fox's Midtown headquarters was set ablaze early Wednesday by an arsonist who was quickly taken into custody. The 50-foot tree on Sixth Avenue went up in flames just before 12:15 a.m., and heavy flames then spread to smaller decorated trees in the display. Police say the 49-year-old suspect climbed up "the metal superstructure" -- the tree is an artificial sculpture that is shaped to look like a tree -- lit papers he brought with him on fire, and shoved the papers into the tree structure. He then climbed down and watched from the street level as it burned, and he was spotted by building security who pointed the man out to police officers posted in nearby Rockefeller Center. Police have issued a 'be on the lookout alert' and dispatched fugitive teams to search for James and Jennifer Crumbley, who were charged Friday with four counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with Tuesday's deadly shooting and have until 4pm to turn themselves in. The charges carry a sentence of up to 15 years in prison. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said he learned of the charges being filed against the Crumbleys from media reports and had no advance warning from the prosecutors, which could have allowed his agency to secure the suspects and prevent them from fleeing. He told CNN police were searching for the Crumbleys after the couple's attorney told his office that the Crumbleys stopped responding to messages.
