FBI investigates 'premeditated' hate attack on Black and gay Empire star Jussie Smollett in which two MAGA supporters 'placed a noose around his neck and poured bleach on him' in Chicago 

'Empire' star Jussie Smollett has been violently attacked in an apparent homophobic and racist hate crime that left him hospitalized. The 35-year-old, who came out as gay to Ellen in 2015, was set upon by two men in ski masks at 2am on Tuesday in Chicago, ThatGrapeJuice.Net reports. A photo of Smollett, which showed him still in his hospital bed, reveals the actor's bruised and swollen face. The picture, taken from a FaceTime conversation between Smollett and 'Empire' creator Lee Daniels, also showed a cut under his right eye. The FBI is now investigating the case as a racially-charged battery and assault. They are looking at nearby businesses for possible surveillance video. Sources familiar with the show's production told TMZ that Smollett and the rest of the cast will have armed security for the duration of their time in Chicago. Police reports state that Smollett was walking from a local Subway sandwich shop when the two men started yelling homophobic and racial slurs, including: 'Aren't you that f***ot 'Empire' n*****?' PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Portland police are looking for a driver who tried to run over a group of pedestrians in a Northeast Portland neighborhood Thursday afternoon. Surveillance video from a home near Wilkes Park shows a pickup truck drive onto the sidewalk and hit at least one of three people walking toward the park. The truck mowed past the pedestrians, who scattered to avoid being run over, before looping back around in the park. It's unclear whether any of the pedestrians were hurt.  Source

Kandou Worley, 40, and Officer Stephanie Gallardo, 33, were both assigned to the department’s Strategic Response Group when they had their fling last year, according to an internal NYPD document.But their secret was revealed when Worley’s live-in girlfriend, Tyeis Coppin, a union delegate in the 32nd Precinct, found incriminating photos on his cellphone. One shows Gallardo, with her hair wet, gazing into the eyes of Worley, who has beads of water dotting his bare chest. Others show Worley nuzzling Gallardo’s face and kissing her cheek, and Gallardo snuggling into Worley’s clothed chest while he caresses the back of her head. In a fit of vengeance, Coppin, 41, allegedly posted the photos to Worley’s Instagram account, which bears the username “mike_lowry_78” — an apparent reference to the ladies-man detective played by Will Smith in the “Bad Boys” movie franchise. Frank Magnitz, Chairman of Germany's Right-Wing AfD Party Severely Injured In 'Assassination Attempt'

The Bremen chairman of Germany’s right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, Frank Magnitz, is battling for his life after sustaining a gaping wound to his head following an attack by three unknown assailants. Magnitz was rushed to the hospital on Monday night after suffering a serious head injury following a “politically-motivated attempted assassination,” Bremen AfD said in a statement, posting a graphic image of the injured chairman. Armed with wooden sticks, the three men beat the politician repeatedly on the head and kicked him while he was already on the ground until a construction worker saw the assault and tried to intervene. According to the statement, the attack took place immediately after Magnitz left the New Year’s reception in Goethe Square. Source
